Many parents look for nice themes to have for their children's parties. Magic is a wonderful theme to have. Below are a few thoughts on a magic themed party.
Invitations: Black top hat with a removable bunny popping out of it.
Simply cut a top hat shape out of black construction paper and the bunny shape out of white computer paper. Write the party information on the bunny. Cut a slot near the top of the hat for the bunny to slide in.
In the invitation, you may also include a small magic trick for each child to rehearse and performed. Most toy stores will have these.
Decorations: Black and white is a good start. Balloons, streamers and tableware can be found in these basic colors. You may also make wands out of dowel rods painted black with white tips.
Cake and Food: Decorate cake with a top hat and a magic wand or a bunny. If you are also crafty, you may want to try making a rabbit in the hat cake.
Serve chips or other snacks in plastic top hats found in most party stores.
Cupcakes are also an easy way to add some magic to your party. To learn how to make some wizard cupcakes, check this site out.
Games and Crafts:
Craft: Make ahead black capes with the children's names in glitter and a few glitter stars. Make these ahead so the glue can dry. You can use black material found in craft stores or even black garbage bags cut in half. (Be sure to cut off any self tie straps. Could be a choking hazard for the younger tykes.)
Let the children glue on precut stars, swirls, sew-on buttons, or jewels.
Games:
Many games can be adapted for a magic theme. You can make a picture of a magic wand and have the children try to pin the star on the tip of the magic wand.
